Nut Torte for Passover
Ingredients:
¾ | cup Shortening |
½ | cup Sugar |
½ | cup Ground Nuts |
6 | Egg Yolks |
9 | oz. Kosher Cake Meal |
Fruit Jelly |
Filling:
1 | cup Ground Walnuts |
1 | cup Sugar |
6 | beaten Egg Whites |
Directions:
Mix the shortening, sugar, nuts, egg yolks, and cake meal well and put in an oblong tin. Spread and cover this mixture with a layer of jelly.
Mix together the filling ingredients and spread the filling on top of the jelly. Bake in moderate (350 degree) oven for about one hour.
