Hamburger Corn Pone Pie


Recipe provided by Mrs. Alfred Bernhardt of the Princeton Chapter.

Ingredients:

1 lb. Ground Beef
cup chopped Onion
1 tsp. Shortening
2 tsp. Chili Powder
¾ tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Worcestershire Sauce
1 cup Canned Tomatoes
1 cup drained canned Kidney Beans
1 cup Corn-Bread Batter (1/2 pkg. corn-bread mix)

Directions:

Brown meat and chopped onion in melted shortening.

Add seasonings and tomatoes. Cover and simmer over low heat for 15 mins.

Add kidney beans. Pour meat mixture into a greased 1 1/2 qt. casserole.

Top with corn-bread batter, spreading carefully with a wet knife. Bake in a 425 oven for 20 minutes.
